AUDITION INFORMATION FOR JUNEFEST 2023
SEEKING: Experienced Musical Theatre and Opera Singers
Rehearsals will begin in mid May in Aspen 2x a week
and switch to daily starting June 1st with Award Winning Composer
Craig Bohmler in Afternoons/Evenings.
Cast must be available for Tech at the Wheeler June 7-10 accordingly
AUDITIONS: Self Tape video submissions will be accepted through March 12
Choose a “legit” song (complete) from Sondheim or before that is not pop/rock but more traditional. A large range is desirable but not necessary. Up tempo or ballad is fine - just something you love to sing and that shows various qualities inside your voice and the ability to articulate a character in song. (Recently recorded video submissions only please)

Please include a SLATE with your Name, Height, City of residence and any conflicts mid May through Performances June 9-10. Submit Video Auditions to info@AspenFringeFestival.org Please include a Pic/Resume with your Musical experience and training. If you are selected for CALL BACKS you will be asked to sing a short selection from Enter the Guardsman or another selection.

Vocal Character Breakdowns

Actor- Low A to F# (above middle C). He should be a real Broadway baritone, not a tenor with low notes as his “Guardsman” Impersonation lies lower and darker musically
Actress- Low B (below middle C) to high Ab (an octave and a 6th above middle C). She should be primarily legit with a nice mix or chest in the lower voice.
Playwright- MALE Low A- D# (above middle C)- this is more of a speak/singing role, but singing is crucial nonetheless. It does not have to be as legit as the leading lady and man-more Rex Harrison
Dresser-FEMALE a real mezzo-legit-Low A (Below middle C) to Db
Wardrobe- FEMALE Middle C to high Bb-she is a soprano and is responsible for the high notes in the ensemble #s-she is the most rangy of the roles
Wigs-MALE Low B to high A - a tenor with low notes- like Wardrobe, he is rangy, but tends to lie high in the ensemble #s. Much of his high work can be done in a supported falsetto
ASM- MALE low B to high E- a baritone comfortable with a reasonably high tessitura.
